The Birth of 6 On Asphalt

Earlier this year Marco reached out to Gomes and myself and said he wanted to take a trip across the country on motorcycles. Gomes was in. I, of course, was reluctant. My bike wasn’t ready, we wouldn’t have enough prep time, getting the time off of work, etc. But, the seed had been planted. We met a few times and further discussed the idea and spoke about taking advantage of this trip not only for fun and personal growth but also to try and get some content out of it as well. The idea intrigued me more and we decided to document the trip and get footage to create a mini documentary. At that point I was in and it was a scramble to get everything ready. 6 On Asphalt was born.

With just under 2 months ’til departure we started planning and getting things together and let me tell you, there’s nothing like a short deadline to get you moving. We planned our main destinations and at first we were over reaching. We had planned to head south first and then west into California, up the coast and then back east through Chicago and Canada even. We quickly realized that a month long trip would prohibit us from doing all that and began cutting location. The first ones to go were the Canada stop and anything on the East Coast. We figured anything on our side of the country can be done during a long weekend. Eventually we locked on destinations and moved into getting gear and motorcycles ready.

For the past 2 months, Marco has been hard at work making sure our bikes are ready for the trip and even now with less than a week to go we are still making minor adjustments to the motorcycles. But time is winding down and our to-do lists are nearly complete.

Our trip begins Friday, August 7th and we’ll be headed straight to Denver, Colorado, our first major stop. Of course we’ll be stopping along the way to eat and sleep. You’ll be able to follow our progress on this website or through our Instagram accounts, which you can find below. Hope you join us on this journey and enjoy.
