Day 25 – Laughter All The Way To Memphis

Marco walked down the street to a parts store to buy some items while Gomes and I finished getting ready this morning. The plan was to make it to Memphis. It was a chill day and we just sat in the U-Haul truck cabin laughing about the situation, and talking about the trip and other interesting topics of conversation that would pop up.

We made a stop in Oklahoma City for breakfast over at Flint, where we were the second set of customers in 2 hours, surprisingly. We fill up our stomachs and get on the road to Memphis, Tennessee. We finish crossing the state of Oklahoma and then wrap up Arkansas, all in the same day. You definitely get more miles done in a closed vehicle.

We arrive in Memphis around mid afternoon and settle in at our place. We get ready, and head out the door to check Memphis at night. It was Tuesday so not much was happening but we walked past what seemed to be some cool places to hang out at and debate on whether we should stay there or keep walking and possibly find another gem. We decide to keep walking a few more blocks and come upon an Irish pub where we stop for food. We have dinner and then walk another block to a place that had music outdoors. We hang out and have a drink and then head back.

It was a relaxing day and Marco comments about how it was nice to get spoiled for a bit and take a break from the bikes. Tomorrow they head south to New Orleans and I head north back to New Jersey.
This wasn’t how the trip was supposed to end, but maybe it’s how it was meant to be.
